HOW IT WORKS

Quote Stage

Vector works closely with customers to understand their specific requirements and provide creative, tailored solutions.

Design Stage

Once Vector is awarded a job, our team of experienced engineers collaborate to produce a comprehensive plastic injection mold design that incorporates all of the customer’s specifications, including part function, mold life, moldability, and manufacturability. At the request of the customer, a moldflow analysis will be ran to confirm part is moldable within the customer’s expectations. All mold designs will be presented to the customer for final review and approval prior to proceeding to the manufacturing stage.

Manufacturing Stage

Once Vector gets final approval on the plastic injection mold design, the project is sent to the shop for the actual build. Experienced tool makers work directly with the design engineers to formulate a manufacturing plan and implement it into Vector’s advanced tool shop.

Sample/Shipment Stage

Once the manufacturing of the mold is complete, an extensive inspection is performed to check functionality before the mold is sampled and/or shipped. Sampling requirements will be defined in the quoting stage; final adjustments to the mold are made before shipment to the customer. In-house sampling is available through our sister company (Mission Plastics North) upon request.

Outsourcing Department

Vector also provides outsourcing services that give our customers options to compete in global markets. The Outsourcing Department maintains strong relationships with their vendors and provides developmental feedback to continuously improve the processes and manufacturing of plastic injection molds.

All outsourced projects are closely monitored and reviewed by a project manager with the support of the engineering department. Vector stands behind the molds that are outsourced just like the molds built in Vector’s domestic tool shop.
